My cChallenge is to try not to waste money (food especially)

Dag 30: Last update

We have come to the last day of the cChallenge, and it is time to reflect on my journey. 

I want to start off by letting you all know that I enjoyed this project. It was fun to challenge myself by reducing the amount of money I spend and the time I spend on my phone. It was hard at times, but I improved a lot. After this challenge I feel like I am more aware of what I am spending my money on and I know how to prevent myself from wasting lots of money. For the phone part, I think I could have done a little better, but I have reduced my usage with approximately 1,5hrs a day, which adds up to a total of 10,5 hours a week!! I would like to keep how much time on my phone(in hours) to myself, as I find it quite disturbing. However, I am getting better and I think I might continue to limit my phone usage. This is something I have tried to do before, but I failed. This time it is easier as I have more motivation and have noticed a difference. I think that after this i challenge i will try to keep it up, and maybe change other things as well. Change is fun! The feeling of succeeding my challenge gives me a sense of control and happiness that is satisfying. Thank you cChallenge for giving me this opportunity to open my eyes and make a change.

Dag 26: One last effort

I have to admit that I have been kind of lazy when it comes to updating lately, but I have not given up on my challenge. Today I brought lunch from home, and it has been a while since i have spent money. I think i am going to give it my all when it  comes to my phone usage, as i have been using my phone a little too much. 

Dag 25:

Forgot to update, but i brought leftovers from dinner, and also one of the other days, a classmate bought me food! (shoutout to Vilhelm) Actually, he brought me food two days in a row. 🙂

Dag 20: Get it together

I have bought food in the cafeteria today and yesterday. One of the biggest issues about bringing my own lunch has been that i don’t know what to bring! Something tasty, but also “effortless” would be nice, so i’m thinking about bringing toast from home instead of buying it at school.

Dag 18: Long time no see!

It’s been a couple of days since my last update, but things are okay. I’ve been doing good with the money part, but i have used my phone a little too much the last couple of days. I noticed that Snapchat is one of the most time consuming apps i have at the moment, so i decided to turn my notifications off.

Dag 14: Steady

I ended up bringing what i usually do for lunch, which is “knekkebrød”(?). Tomorrow i’ll bring leftovers from todays dinner. I have already put it in my lunch box, so i’ll be ready to go. The bus was a little late today so i didn’t get my porridge and ended up buying some food in the cafeteria. It’s not that bad, it’s been a while since i spent money after all.

Dag 13: Satisfied

Today i have spent 2h 27min on my phone. That is quite a big difference compared to what i usually end up with. The money part isn’t really that much of a problem anymore, and i feel like i’m only getting better when it comes to restraining myself. Tomorrow i might try to bring better lunch.

Dag 12: Update on both challenges

I have downloaded this app called “YourHour” to keep track of my usage. I really like it, because it shows not just how many hours you spend on your phone, but also which apps you use the most. You can also choose to add a timer. Right now as i am writing this, i have a green timer that says i’ve spent 7minutes on this app. Once i hit 30minutes it turns orange, and turns red when i get past my daily limit. It makes me more aware of my usage and this way it is easier to reduce it.

For the other challenge it’s going quite well. I haven’t spent money in a couple of days and it feels good! I’m thinking about leaving my card at home from now on as well. Things are going great!

Dag 8: Adding a challenge?

I got a little inspired by this video and some other people’ cChallenges. I have tried to limit my phone usage before, but i failed. I’ll try to limit my phone usage, and instead maybe take some time to read a book or something. I would love to feel more productive and get some time offline. I’m not gonna mention how many hours i use on average everyday, but i can admit that it’s too much.

Dag 8: Toast

Okay, there’s no denying the fact that i love food. It’s what i spend the majority of my money on. However, this was cheap and i think it would be thrown in the trash at the end of the day anyway. So in a way, it’s good? 🙂

Dag 5: Progress?

I brought lunch today too, and i took some of the free fruit and porridge at school. I don’t feel like i’ve improved so much yet, but we’ll see at the end of this challenge. Small progress is still progress.

Today i spent 20kr on a busticket

Yesterday i spent 120kr on kebabhouse.

This was quite unnecessary as i wasn’t actually hungry, and i could’ve been picked up. But on the other hand i guess taking the bus is better for the environment ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Dag 2:

Yesterday (day 1) i brought my own lunch! I ended up not buying anything.

Dag -1:

Today i spent 50kr on lunch in the cafeteria, and 40kr on snacks after school. From now on, i’ll try to stop wasting my money. (Especially on food)
